To our amazing community,
We want to start by acknowledging that Tester 4 did not go as planned, and we sincerely apologize to everyone involved. The main issue we faced during the event was severe server lag. One of the games, Void Hunters, caused the server's performance to drop to 600ms tick time due to looping over 1600 blocks per tick, something we didn't anticipate. Unfortunately, this created a poor gameplay experience for everyone.
What we're doing to fix it
The good news is that we've identified the root cause of the lag. While some games will require a full recode to optimise their performance, others (like Void Hunters) only need a simple fix to run smoothly. We're already working hard to address these issues to ensure the next event runs flawlessly.
What will happen to Tester 4?
We're not giving up on Tester 4. The event will be rescheduled and renamed Tester 4 Part 2, with a new date to be determined soon. In Part 2 we're promising fully fixed lag issues, a new game, and a working Capture the Flag finale. All players who participated in Tester 4 will be guaranteed a spot in Part 2. We appreciate your patience as we take the time needed to get this right.
What's next for Destiny Games?
Although this setback pushes back our timeline a little, we're confident in our ability to deliver the full Destiny Games experience as planned. Tester 4 Part 2 will be an opportunity to show off the improvements we've made and provide a sneak peek at what's in store.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
